The brewing storm between Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun and a serving senator, representing Lagos West district at the upper legislative chambers, Solomon Olamilekan popularly known as Yayi came to the fore today as unconfirmed reports have it that Adeola’s property in Ilaro, Ogun State has been marked for demolition by Urban and Physical Planning Ministry within the next three days.
While some allude the reason to the urban renewal of the Amosun administration’s policy, some are of the opinion that all is geared towards the 2019 elections as Adeola aspired to vie for the Ogun West senatorial district in the last general election but it was rebuffed by Amosun, before he ran back to Lagos where he contested and won.
Investigations by Photo story revealed that for so long it been a sort of hide and seek game between Amosun and Adeola despite the fact that they belong to the same party. Amosun belongs to a faction and former Governor of the State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba also belong to another faction. With the re-admission of Osoba into All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Osoba’s group are positioning Adeola for the 2019 election as a guber candidate which Amosun is not favourably disposed to.
Though , Adeola has not declared his intention to run publicly for any elective position in the State, his actions and in-actions suggest that he has the intention to run and groups are springing up to supports his aspiration when he deems fit to go public.
As at the time of filing this report, neither Adeola’s media adviser, Bashorun Kayode Odunaro nor a representative of the ministry could be reached for clarification on the matter.
