NNPC Limited has congratulated the overall best graduating student at the 54th Convocation of the University of Lagos who bagged a perfect 5.0 CGPA.
A statement on their Facebook page as cited by photostory reads: “NNPC Limited congratulates David Oluwatomiwa Akanmu, the overall best-graduating student at the 54th Convocation of the University of Lagos and a beneficiary of theNNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship Award, for graduating with an exceptional CGPA of 5.0 in Civil and Environmental Engineering.

During his undergraduate years, Akanmu was involved in social impact functions and was a recipient of the Millennium Fellowship in 2019.
He resided in Shodeinde Hall of Residence throughout his undergraduate years.
Akanmu comes from a family of 6 and everyone except him was born on a Thursday. He was unlucky with scholarships. Despite achieving a 5.0 GPA every semester, he applied to 20 scholarships and didn’t get any until his 21st try.
Eventually he was awarded the NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship, OxBridge-Unilag Alumni Initiative Scholarship, and Unilag Endowment Fund, among others.
