2O22 CWG: Omotayo congratulates African Contingent…urges preparations for 2024 Paris Olympics

A renowned Sports Psychologist/ JCI Senator, Prof. Oluwaseun O Omotayo has congratulated the Africa sports men and women at the just-concluded 11-day Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.
    A statement sent to our correspondent via WhatsApp  reads in part; “I commend all African  Sports men and women who made it to the podium particularly those whose podium appearances gave way to the rendition of their Countries’ national anthems and raising of their flags above others by winning gold medals. Nigeria remains the unchallenged African  best country ahead of South Africa and Kenya. I particularly congratulate those Nigerians and the sole Kenyan who made Nigeria, Kenya and indeed Africa proud by posting record breaking performances at the Games. 
” As we celebrate these Africa Sports men and women Sports Stakeholders in Africa should begin early preparations towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games which is scheduled to open on the 26th of July, 2024. It is important to create the right environment for Africa Sports ecosystem to foster for the good of the career of Africa Sports men and women even in retirement” he concluded. 
It would be recalled, on October 6, 2021, Omotayo had charged African countries to commence preparations in earnest for the Commonwealth Games in 2022 Birmingham which was published by  photostory.
Team Nigeria did well at the competition, finishing seventh on the medals table with 12 gold, 9 silver and 14 bronze.
Omotayo is Chairman Board of Trustees(BoT), Sports Psychology Association of Nigeria (SPAN),President, Africa Students Football Union (ASFU), Acting President, Africa Sports Management Association (ASMA) Board Member, World Association for Sports Management (WASM)Visiting Scholar, Shcool of Sports and Exercise Medicine University of Health and Allied Sciences,  Ho, Volta Region, Ghana.
