The Managing Director/CEO of Ogun- Oshun River Basin Development Autjority (O-ORBDA) Engr. Dr. Deji Ashiru, FNSE, FNIMechE, FNIWE, has said the 79th United Nations General Assembly( UNGA) in New York has been a game-changer and truly the Summit of the Future.
Ashiru said it is a Summit where global leaders come together to build a better world for all. Speaking further , he said: ” I’m thrilled connecting with leaders, engaging in meaningful discussions on climate change mitigation, energy, adaptation strategies, and innovative solutions for food security which has been a rare privilege.
“The Assembly has provided a unique platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective action towards a more sustainable future. It’s inspiring to see world leaders pledge action for peace, sustainable development, and human rights, especially with the adoption of the landmark Pact for the Future.”
He added that this pact covers crucial themes like peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, and the transformation of global governance.
“Overall, the United Nations General Assembly 2024 has been an incredible success, marking a pivotal moment in history where world leaders are coming together to shape a brighter future for all, ” Ashiru concluded.
