- Former Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun has joined the presidential race to contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress( APC).
Amosun said his wide- range experiences in both public and private life has imbued him with the required skills “Today, I am formally announcing my candidacy for president under the All Progressives Congress. It is a mission to renew hope in the people.I am confident of the future of this country “
At the declaration ceremony held in Abuja, goodwill messages came from distinguished personalities who described Amosun as a de- tribalised team leader and philanthropist who has what it takes to move the country forward
While speaking, Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi who joined the presidential race yesterday said Nigerians are spoilt for choice as Amosun is his brother. He added: ” Many are surprised that I am here. What we are all about is moving Nigeria forward. Sen. Amosun is a compassionate Nigerian and what you see is what you get.We should allow Nigerians listen to m competitive views and make up their minds on who they want.”
Dignitaries present at the declaration include Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Ishola, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senators Iyabo Anisulowo, Emmanuel Anosike, Hariat Gwadabe, former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikwutu among others.
