Yesterday, the news spread like wild fire that Madam Lizzy Ovueome who played the character of Ovularia on the now-rested soap, New Masquerade had passed on.
Various social  media platforms further fuelled the rumour.
However, her co-actor , Chika Okpala who played her on-screen husband, Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo dispelled the rumour.
Lending credence to his assertion, the woman in the middle of the rumour, Madam Ovueome spoke exclusively to TVC News as monitored by Photostory.com.ngOn a visit to her Port-Harcourt home, the 78year old who was alive and well said, “I was shocked when I heard the news that I had passed on. I wonder where the news emanated from,” she said curiously.
Speaking further, she urged rumour peddlers as well as those who spread fake newx to desist from such and verify news at all times. Ovueome added that the development really cost her and her family. Her words, ”  My daughter had to rush down when she heard the news. Similarly, my grand-children also rushed down.
Even my family members from Aba and Lagos were not left out. They all wanted to verify if what they heard is true. I thank all those who sent messages and personally called me.”Recalling a wise saying by her on-screen husband,Chief Zebrudaya, she said, ” What is good for the goose is also good for the gizzard. Before you do things to people, think about what will happen if same is meted out to you.Therefore, desist from spreading rumours,” she concluded.
