It is a day of joy in the household of the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel popularly known as OGD, as he clocks 66.

A congratulatory message on the Facebook page of the Special Adviser to the President
(Media & Publicity), Mr. Femi Adesina, cited by our correspondent reads in part; “President Muhammadu Buhari joins the leadership and members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in congratulating Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former Governor of Ogun State, on his 66th birthday, April 6, 2022, celebrating the businessman, democrat and party stalwart for his dedication to nation building.
“The President rejoices with family members, friends and associates, both in business and politics, of the former governor, who cut his teeth early in politics by being among the Committee of Friends of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and joining the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in the 70’s as a student.”
Buhari further said: “The inspiring role Otunba Daniel has played in the political and economic development of the country, setting up engineering and hospitality outfits that employ and train the youth in entrepreneurship, establishing a Political Leadership Academy (POLA) for grooming young people in leadership and governance, and the Gateway Front Foundation for philanthropy.
“As the Otunba of Egba and Ijebu clans marks his 66th birthday, the President commends his courage, diligence and visionary leadership style, which has translated into better lives for many, and supported major historic transitions, like return to civilian rule in 1999.
President Buhari prays for the wellbeing of the former governor and his family”, he concluded.
Similarly, the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu also sent a congratulatory message to Daniel He wishes the former governor and APC stalwart many more years of good health to continue his contributions to democracy and national development.
In a statement by his Media Office, Asiwaju Tinubu said: “Warmest congratulations to former governor of Ogun State and prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on his 66th birthday today.
“Attaining this age is truly a gift from God. My family and I join you, your family, friends and associates in thanking God for you and the excellent human being that you are.
“Your contributions to Ogun State and Nigeria have been immense and enduring. You first earned your reputation as a prominent engineer before your election as Governor of Ogun State.
“You embody the progressive and democratic spirit this nation needs and upon which our party is founded.”
“Today, as you celebrate this joyous occasion, we pray that God Almighty grant you good health, vitality, increased wisdom and that the rest of your days be those of peace, prosperity and happiness as you continue to lend your talents to the improvement of our bellowed country.”
Otunba Gbenga Daniel born on April 6th, 1956, he was Governor of the Gateway State from 29th May 2003 to 29 May 2011. He is also the owner of Kresta Laurel, an Electro-mechanical Engineering company, he started in 1990. as well as the founder of Conference Hotels with branches in Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu, Abeokuta and Isheri part of Lagos.As governor, his programs on Public Private Partnership attracted several businesses into the State during his tenure.
