The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Engr. Adedeji Ashiru FNSE has urged the 2023/ 2024 participants of the Graduate Youth Empowerment programme ( GYEP) to utilize the grants they received judiciously to promote Agribusiness and contribute to food security in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s agenda, Ashiru stated this during the 2023/24 GYEP Graduation ceremony held at the OORBDA headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State yesterday.
Some dedicated individuals, comprising 26 males and 34 females, have undergone rigorous training in Agribusiness, including Poultry, Fisheries, and Arable Crop Production. They have also received hands-on training in Agribusiness value-chain, cage fishing, cage construction, and catfish processing.
In his address, Ashiru charged them to be good Ambassadors wherever they find themselves.
“OORBDA has provided a start-up capital, land and facilities like fish pond, Poultry pen house etc to support the launch of your Agribusiness ventures.
“I congratulate each of the graduand on their achievement and urge them to utilize this grant judiciously to promote Agribusiness and contribute to food security in line with President Bola Tinubu, agenda, “Your success is crucial to the growth and development of our nation, he said.
Ashiru further expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, for their unwavering support and encouragement. He equally appreciated the dedication of the staff from the Agricultural and Commercial Services Department from OORBDA
and all facilitators.
Elated participants thanked the Authority for the laudable initiative and promised to contribute their quota to food development in the country.
