Esther Chukwuemeka who was recently called to bar has refuted claims that she finished secondary school at 13 and was called to the Nigerian Bar at 20. She put the records straight, adding that she is 24years old.
In a viral video on social media, the legal mind set the records straight saying, ” I started my secondary school at the age of 9 and completed at 15, not 13. I gained admission into Abia State University to study Political Science but initially wanted to study Law. I later studied Law in India for five years. I would like to apogise for all the wrong information out there, it was not intended to mislead the public However, I am 24,not 20, “she explained.
It would be recalled that news had made the rounds that Esther was 20 years old and had been called to the Nigerian Bar, thus making her the youngest Nigerian lawyer to be called to Bar.
The report further said that her father had picked up the challenge and sent her to India to study law where she graduated in flying colours, after she had been denied admission into a Nigerian University for being under aged.
Upon completion of her studies in India, Esther then returned to Nigeria and was admitted to the Nigerian Law School for her Bar Part 1 program.
The programme is compulsory for all students from foreign universities.
Esther successfully passed her Bar part one programme and wrote the Bar Final exam.
