Governor of Ondo State,Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN has advised his former Deputy ,Agboola Ajayi to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party and work for its flag bearer , Eyitayo Jegede,SAN.It will be recalled that Ajayi failed to clinch the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Gubernatorial Ticket for the forthcoming Ondo Governorship elections,having defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress after his rancour with the state Governor.
Addressing newsmen today, in a news report televised on AIT’s Demcracy Today programme as monitored by our correspondent, the State Governor who also doubles as the APC Governorship candidate, Akeredolu said ,” It was the choice of my former Deputy to leave the party for PDP where he belongs. From what I gathered,he didn’t get the PDP Guber Ticket.”
He added that if Ajayi wishes to leave the PDP on account of his loss for another party,all well and good :” However,as a big brother,I would advice him to stay in the PDP where he belongs and support Eyitayo Jegede. That’s the candid advice I’d give him at this time,” Akeredolu stated.
