Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has rendered account of his stewardship in the first 100 days as governor of Lagos. Tagged: “100 days and beyond”, as expected,a mamoth crowd converged on the Blue Roof Hall within the Ltv Complex in Agidingbi,Ikeja.From artisans,businessmen, chiefs,residents and well-wishers, The event also serves as an avenue for Lagosians to ask questions about the state of Lagos from the governor.As at press time, our correspondent noticed forms being passed around for this purpose.
In his welcome address,the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State,Mr.Gbenga Omotosho noted that Governor Sanwo-Olu has been at the helm of affairs in Lagos State for 100days,adding that Lagosians can attest to the fact that the combination of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr.Kadri Obafemi Hamzat in leading the people to the Lagos of their dreams is not in doubt: “His Excellency has commissioned projects for the well-being of Lagosians such as the MCC in Epe and the commissioning of the Lagos Blue box project.Other projects have been commissioned in the Housing,Security and Wealth Creation.”He urged everyone to listen to the governor as he speaks on his 100days and beyond,in addition to giving an insight into his programmes for the future.
Taking to the podium, Governor Sanwo-Olu reeled out achievements made in the last 100 days.He said: ” 100days ago, I was named the 16th Governor of Lagos. Lagosians voted me in on the 9th of March, 2019.Together with my Deputy,Dr.Hamzat, we redefined administration.After taking oath of office, our resolve towards achieving a greater Lagos was made through our six THEMES. .We remain committed to making these a reality.
“Within 24hours in office, I signed my First Executive Order,LASTMA now operates two daily shifts to ease the free flow of traffic.”
Sanwo-Olu also touched on achievements in other sectors such as housing, health,et al.
He added that a Lagos Metropolitan Fibre Optics station would be set up just as he hopes to work assisidiously to make the Lagos State School feeding programme a reality.Also, Sanwo-Olu said the Lekki-Ikoyi Toll Bridge would become cashless in the next couple of weeks to ease traffic on that corridor.The governor also stated that in making Lagos a 21st Century economy,the problem of power must be tackled head-on.
