Some residents of Ijebu Ode in Ogun state has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria to prevail on banks to store enough money in their various ATMs to forestall what has been happening to them in the last few days. It is no longer news that customers have been having a hard time withdrawing money from the Automated Teller Machines otherwise known as ATM.
Madam Adeola Segi who spoke our correspondent in Ijebu Ode said, it was a nightmare for her when she tried to withdraw money. She recalled that on Saturday, she stood at am ATM point for close to 5 hours, waiting to cash money .She alluded the problem to
recession and the inability of banks to dispense enough money to their customers.
As at this morning, while our correspondent was leaving Ijebu Ode, virtually all the banks’ ATM points were filled up with people who wanted to cash money for the festive period.
Although there were enough things to buy in the market, people could not due to paucity of funds.
